Mk2 Golf GTi Championship
Now firmly established as possibly the best budget ‘tin top’ race event in the UK, The Mk2 Golf GTI Championship was started by 4 long time VW enthusiasts who wanted somewhere to race their mildly modified track day cars. From the first race at Cadwell Park in 2007 with 17 cars on the grid, it was clear there were many other like minded Mk2 fans around and the race event, now in its fifth season, quickly grew in numbers and was awarded Championship status by the Motor Sports Association (MSA) from 2008.

2011 has seen the start of a new Mk2 Golf GTi Series that caters for 8v and 16v cars in two classes. The Production GTi Series is a one-make race series specifically designed to provide close, friendly and reasonably-priced racing for varying drivers from novice to seasoned veteran.
